My kids–and their friends–say funny stuff

20 Nov

My daughter and her friends were discussing after-school activities.

Daughter: I was in Brownies for a while. I didn’t do Girl Scouts.

Friend: I was going to do Girl Scouts. My mom was even going to be the leader. Then I found out it wasn’t just about the cookies.

What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie? My year isn’t complete without adding at least two pounds of Thin Mint fat to my thighs.

Before I went gluten free it was Thin Mints all the way! Now I just jealously watch my son eat them.

I couldn’t do the gluten free thing. Good for you! And I’ll have a few Thin Mints for you.

Too funny. There’s a blog post there: “It’s not just about the cookies.” I loved the shortbreads. Did you know you can actually buy GS cookies on Ebay? Have you had the Boy Scouts popcorn? Pretty darn good.

Pretty good post idea! I’ll have to think about that. I did not know about GS cookies on Ebay, but Keebler makes a cookie very much like Thin Mints. They’re called Grasshoppers. Don’t do Boy Scout support activities due to their stance on gays.

I was a Girl Scout. The cookies really were the best part. Your daughter’s friend has her priorities straight. My favorites are Thin Mints and Samoas. Mr. Weebles loves Tagalongs. But to be honest, I’ll eat pretty much any Girl Scout Cookie that’s put in front of me.

I know what you mean about eating any GS cookie. My son loves Tagalongs. There are Tagalong Taste-alikes at Walmart. I’ve never seen them anywhere else and I hate Walmart, so my son is forced to go himself or wait ’til the real thing comes along once a year.

You mean Girl Scouts do stuff other than sell cookies? I am as surprised as your daughter’s friend. I adore Samoas.

Lol. I’ve eaten me quite a few Samoas. The thing about Thin Mints is that I never feel like I’ve eaten and entire box even when I’ve eaten an entire box. A bunch of Samoas just feels like a lot of cookie.
